CHIPS Act Impact: 50% of Fastest Growing Semiconductors Companies Have Most Employees in the USA

The CHIPS Act was passed and singed into law in August 2022 in the USA. This was aimed at strengthening the domestic semiconductor manufacturing, design, and research capabilities of the USA. Till December 2022, this had resulted in over $200 billion in private investments.
One year later, the impact of this is visible. In this post, we assess it by looking at the fastest growing semiconductor companies by headcount across the world.
After identifying all the semiconductor manufacturing companies across the world, we found that only 70 of them actually grew in headcount over last year.

Of all the 70 growing semiconductor companies, more than 35% of them have raised either Series A or Series B as their last funding round.
